"The archetype is derived from the simplest and purest part of our times’ essence and personality. White highlights one’s true self, which is the message I want to convey. The rise and fall of the body blends fantasy and reality. Ridden of tempo and rhythm, the full-fledged curve is giving off fragrance of life, and displaying the purity at the bottom of everyone’s heart. Distracted by the hustle and bustle, very often we cannot see the true nature of the world. The existence of JELLOFOX is trying to remind people of their forgotten innocence and purity, hopes and dreams.
SKIN is roughed in with black lines, coupled with the milky white body, all down to the simplest visual expression. The eyes are filled with shining stars. Looking at the right eye for a second, you may find a small shooting star. In the versatile and unpredictable universe, with one little dream in mind, the whole world is at your hand. I’ve done many optical illusion pictures, in which the image of JELLOFOX is tactically hidden. They are not just visual games. What I want to say is to seek the hidden truth in the immensely complex world." - Tong Yan
