Last night was the opening night of sneaker exhibition "Soleciety". The event was hosted by Edison and his CLOT family. Venue was set in his soon-to-open sneaker shop in Shanghai.

Crowded. Not surprised.

Sneakers; Tons, and Tons of them. They got the private collection (part of) from Hiroshi, Futura, Stash, Jeff Staple, Eddie Crus (Undefeated), and Retrokid. That's a pretty strong pack. The stuff from Hiroshi were nuts. Again, no surprise there, but still, a few pieces took my breath away. HTM, Fragment, you name it, he has them there in glass cases.

Yeah, i have a thing for sneakers, in case you haven't noticed.

Chin-Flow in town

Leader of Hip-Hop group "Kung-Fu", Chin-Flow, came from Beijing to help with MC for the event. Good to have a choice to get up with him. We met in Beijing a few weeks ago, and here we are again in Shanghai. Himm (no beanie on) is the founder of Chinese urban magazine "URBAN". Mad props to Himm and his crew for helping Clot to organize this event. Met Himm about 3 yrs ago, and since then, URBAN Magazine has been very strong in the community.

CF, is my turn to visit you again in Beijing.

PHILASH decided to drop by this afternoon, all the way from London to Shanghai to check things out. Of course, knowing that he's visiting, we must sit down for a little chat.

Phil Ashcroft, his real name, has been one of the staples in Scrawl Collective.

BeiBang and MaoMao tied the knot this past Saturaday. the dinner party filled a 2-stories restaurant. Many friends from the design circle came together to celebrate their new beginning as a family.

Went to this late night joint with Chris, Vivi and Julia. Crayfish and crab meal at 3:30am... We usually have 2 to 3 crabs per dinner, Chris ordered like 20 some crabs for late night snack... the guy was nuts. The worse thing was,.... we finished them and 2 trays-ful of crayfish...

Young design collective PERK is one of the raising stars in Mainland's comtemporary art circle. Exhibited already in various exhibitions, including Get-It-Louder a year ago, Nike's Beautiful Football, plus others.

Coming October, the creative duo will have the walls of adFunture Guerrilla Shop for one whole week. We can't wait to see what they will put up there.

You'll be seeing alot of them, I promise.

Fashion Show in Pudong

Went to RED DOT to have dinner with my mother on her birthday, and on the same night, there was this huge fashion show in front of RED DOT. It served as my mother's birthday dinner's entertainment. Good timing guys.

Quite a few brands represented that night.... none worth mentioning though, sorry.

Models were pretty, gotta say that.

Walked to work, and saw this rennovation going on. Pls let this be a real Virgin Records store, and not some knockoffs.

It would be good to get some Virgin or HMV stores in Shanghai.

Beijing #2







Last night in Beijing was spent at Estelle's #47 Gallery. Had dinner there with WZL, ZC, his lady and Nie Zhen. Estelle ended up being the host. Thanks, Estelle. Tons of crazy topics throughout dinner, and Nie Zheng was teaching us how to take "real" photographs.



Talented animation artist Fion Feng. Watch out, people, you will like her work!




Morning (my "morning", at least) in Beijing traffic...

Nike APA @ da>space






Arrived Shanghai at 4pm, and rushed back to da>space to meet with the Nike APA team that came visit from Hong Kong. We did a salon at our gallery space for them. Invited 9 friends as speakers; Jun Jun, Gong Ming, Beibang, Jukai, Lin, Chris and myself, while Vnutz and DJ Fortune were not available today. After the 2 hrs session, Suzette (Nike HK) took us all out to a wonderful dinner at Number 9.

A wonderful evening, and we shared much information and ideas. Thanks for having us for this, Suzette.

iLook China Design Fashion Show




iLook Magazine organized this fashion show in 798 art district. Designers showcased included Zheng Da, Gao Xin, Wang Yiyang and Jiji. The show was a mix of dance and fashion. Interesting concept.


Ran into Lauren who actually visited me at da>space last week in Shanghai. Along with friends of Beijing, we all enjoyed the show.

Beijing again


Another day at the adFunture workshop, another day working til morning. (is 4:55am now here)

Another trip to Beijing tomorrow morning, mean a few hrs later from now. I'm still waiting for a bloody file to come through. No news today, guys. Just a working man doing his job; work.

I did, however, met up with a new friend from New York. Introduced by Jiae and John of Theme Magazine, Linyee is here in Shanghai for a few weeks. I'll hang out with her again when I come back from this weekend trip to Beijing. Is not vacation, people, is for work... so stop asking me about the new releases, we are working on it!!!

Thanks for the support you guys are showing on different message boards around the globe. Yes, I do try to find time to visit those sites and drop some replies. I enjoy it.

Have a nice day, and I'll see you guys again in another 12 hrs.

768squad Exhibition Opening Night




Another packed night at da>space. This time is for Jukai's 768squad Exhibition.





G-Robot, the debut. This is the hand-customed/manufactured edition of only 30 pcs.


Hand-painted camo versions. Just for good looks.

768 Squad Exhibition: BOMBING IS BACK!

Last night before the big opening of Jukai's exhibition. All working non-stop to make sure we are on point with this one. Jukai, ring master of Djebala Design Crew, has put together a nice collection of creations for this exhibit. Graf, model works, paintings, digital artwork, figures, the whole 9 yards.

The exhibition will be in Shanghai's da>space Gallery for one month. So if you find yourself in the city during this time, come check him and his boys out. Is worth the one flight of stair case, I promise you.

G-Robot LE30

Worth mentioning are these tight joints, 30 customized G-Robot figures will be up for grabs tomorrow. These are not blank toys, it is an official colorway, but Jukai added some juice into these. Individually numbered. Yes, only 30 units made for this event. If you want to get your hands on these hot cakes, you'd better drop 768 an email to reserve. 768 has picked up so much momentum lately, I doubt these figures will stay on the shelves for long. See, if we are in NYC or Taiwan, these should be all gone tomorrow night at the opening, but since we are in Shanghai, a relatively new vinyl ground, I'll say these will be gone in a week, tops. I'm not sure, but I think these babies will be $50usd a pop. Not bad at all for this piece.

Jukai, best of luck with the exhibition, we all know you worked ultra-hard on this. And all you out there must pay extra attention to the 768Squad, 'cos they ain't playin', they are damn good!

Is always a nice scene when shipments are leaving the studio. You really do feel a small sense of accomplishment. Our job is almost done when they leave our doors. It is up to the public to see if they feel the products or not. Some are well received, some not so much. "What can you do?" A line that I hear alot nowadays.

Yeah, what CAN you do? That's the real question, isn't it?
