Don't Tell My Agent



Tokyo isn't that warm right now neither, but trying to look for street art along the dark streets in the Tokyo night is still fun. Happy to found a few pieces by Andre Mr. A here and there. Of course, with Le Baron in Tokyo, shouldn't be surprised to see Andre being a frequent visitor to the city. BNE's stickers are not hard to track down neither, he's everywhere.. more interesting is where he places his stickers, the surroundings.

东京很冷，四处找寻路边的涂鸦不一定是一件好玩的事情。但路过这幅Mr.A的作品时，确实心暖了一点。BNE的贴纸还是到处也有，较有趣的是他贴贴纸的地点和环境。

Walked by this small joint while walking around Harajuku, the first name that popped into my head was Barry Mcgee. I might be wrong.

路过Harajuku的某房子，看到这样的画风。只有一个名字浮现在脑海里; Barry Mcgee，又名Twist的美国涂鸦icon。



Wow, the first month of 2008 certainly went by rather quickly.

Have been very busy during the past weeks trying to finish up as much work as possible before the Chinese New Year holidays, this is when the whole Mainland manufacturing industry closes down for 2 weeks. Didn't go to any party or event during the past weeks. Well, an excuse for a night-out made its appearance in form of an invitation by a friend to this Grey Goose -sponsored party titled "Don't Tell My Agent". Printed on the invitation that the event starts at 9:30pm, blah blah blah. Never a need to show up right on time, so we went over at around 10:30pm, after our last meeting on a weeknight. Well. I think the promotion went so well, and people were so trusting, they really obeyed to the title; Don't Tell My Agent... apparently, they didn't tell anybody all together! A few of our friends showed up, as confused as I was. 20mins into it, we gotta hell outta there. A waste of time, went back to the studio and worked til 3am. Conclusion? No conclusion, other than a note to self that I should skip as many of these "confusing" parties as possible. Not to take a piss over Grey Goose or anything, so didn't see how this event was organized, that's all.

More new releases are about to drop after the Chinese New Year. Make sure you check with you local dealers often, you won't wanna miss what're coming.

Saturday, January 26th

Snow in Shanghai?? What??



Sat. afternoon, Shanghai has been snowing quite a bit, which was a surprise for me. This is by far the most snow I've seen in my 5 yrs in Shanghai. The climate is indeed changing around the globe. Getting colder and colder here wasn't what I had in mind... Reminds me slightly a bit of Toronto... all that snow powling every morning, that wasn't fun at all...

Monday, January 21st

Rhyolite / WrongWroks Buka



As a box awaits on my studio table from Nike, the first thing popped into my head was "Dunk". Being Dunk Year and all... but nope. To my surprise, they sent me a pair of this ACG Air Rhyolite, which believe it or not blew my mind, 'cos the black/purple color combo was very nice. The boot style is what I dig as well. I've long been a fan of the ACG apparel line, but this was my first footwear from this outdoor line. Thank you Alex.

一直是ACG系列的fan，这户外系列的产品也越来越多。自己是它为最实用的Nike系列。
今天收到Nike方面送来的ACG Air Rhyolite鞋种。用上了今年较受欢迎的黑紫配色。实用与美观的好平衡。感谢Nike的Alex，这是我很喜欢的机种。


A nice girl, a tee, a trucker cap plus a designer figure all in one shot, I think Tony from WrongWroks knows me far too well! I like this type of collabo. A while back Tony designed a variant for our BUKA Series, and now he has taken it and added his spin onto it by releasing a special range which includes a t-shirt and my favorite everyday item the trucker cap. That lady, however, is not part of the deal. Sorry folks.

Nicely done, Tony. Thank you.

BUKA第一系列正式在adFunture x YOHO网店上架。一直在等候的朋友们终于可以在国内买到这商品了。十四款当中，加拿大品牌WrongWroks也设计了一款。为了这次的合作，WrongWroks最近也发布了用上Buka图形的T-shirt和帽子系列。反应好得有点出乎意料之外。只可惜这系列不会在国内供应，下次同类型的项目必须预早留量给这里的朋友了。

Sneeker / Babel



Sneakers have a special place in my life, so I try to pay homage to footwear via some of the products we produce. This upcoming release designed by Ola Sundberg fits that quite well. Mister Sneeker. Just a prototype sample, so don't even ask me when this will be out.

一向是球鞋迷，所以产品很多时会有它们的出现。瑞典设计师Ola Sundberg这次的作品更点到标题了。Mister Sneeker呈现。


Babel, a movie starring Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchette and Koji Yakusho, was a film about 3 families in 3 different countries, but all connected somehow via one sad accident. The movie's cutting reminded me of Pulp Fiction. But of course, this movie was much sadder. Dont ask me what this movie was about, I can only say that it reflects how people with different backgrounds react differently, and their way of thinking is not something that the other person can fully understand. Afterall, you ain't from where he or she was from, different cultural backgrounds switch things up into a different ball game.

看了出了已有一段时间的BABEL电影。Brad Pitt主演，更包括Lord of the Rings的Cate Blanchett和日本演员Koji Yakusho。这故事以3个小故事组成，中间以一件意外把他们串在一起。内容不提了，让想看的朋友自己欣赏。

电影的剪接手法让我回忆起当年华伦天奴的Pulp Fiction。看过的应该能想象。当年Pule Fiction这样的故事接片方式对市场是十分新奇的。而且，有以发觉到自PF推出之后，很多电影都用上了这格式。Pulp Fiction还是自己最喜欢的Cult Movie之一，更可能是唯一。

而Babel给自己的感想是：有时候黑于白，对与错，不是理想中分得那么清。别人的内心世界，你又有多明瞭呢？美国，墨西哥，摩洛哥和东京，这样4个人情大差异的国度，里面的人心情可以引致到什么摩擦呢？

HK street label Subcrew recently did a collabo trucker cap with Mainland magazine YOHO Magazine. 2 colorways available. Yellow version is for the magazine to give to friends, and a Red Colorway will be offered to the public. 300 reds available. cop it if you see it.

Wee Sticker / Game Plan



Is it too early to think about Valentine's Day gifts? I don't know, I usually leave it til like Feb 13th to start panicing... sometimes the morning of 14th even. Well, not this year, I am thinking ahead this time!

Wee Ninja came out many many months ago, now it will be his turn; Wee Sticker by Shawnimal. The wait is ALMOST over.

继很久以前推出的Wee Ninja后，全新的Shiawnimal系列马上又要出现了。可爱的Wee Sticker进入最后打样阶段。


Stayed home over the weekend, watched a few dvds... The Game Plan by The Rock from the WWE fame and little girl Kyra Sedgwick. I have long been a fan of The Rock from his WWE days, and in recent years, he made quite a leap into Hollywood. I watched a few of his movies before, they weren't too bad actually. This one, The Game Plan, I actually admit I quite like. Yeah, it was a Disney production, but hey, it was actually a good movie to watch on a Sunday evening. Check it out when you have nothing else to do. A family comedy. It was a good laugh, the usual Disney stuff..

周末看了由美国摔跤手The Rock主演的《The Game Plan》。一部Disney出品的家庭式戏剧。一直喜欢看The Rock在WWE美国摔跤联会的表演。近年来他不断往电影圈进发，演出也一次比一次的好。在Game Plan一片中，在感人剧段里也相当出色。其片中其实有另一位主角，就小女星Kyra Sedgwick。小童星演Rock的八岁女儿。相信看完这片的朋友都会疼死这小女孩。

The Game Plan，这部把美式足球和一段父女情混在一起的电影，值得看看。

SLM Dropped / G-Shock 582



SLM finally dropped last night in London at Bodhi. I hope everybody had a great time at the party. I know Sichi and Will did. They should still be drunk at this time, who knows?! This ill lil' piece has been in the plans for months and months, you finally get to see what we wanted to say, well, yeah, pretty obvious what the message was! And we meant it too! Once again, a big thanks for the collaborators' support, this is way more than just a logo-slap-on excerise, more things are to come from this. So, stick around.

提示已久的SLM项目正今晚在伦敦作首发party。潮流资讯网站Slam x Hype和Hypebeast已相继发布了这次单品的信息。今天之前，这产品系列的照片一直没有公布，想为大家保持一种神秘感。我和Sichi都忍了很久不把产品照曝光。我们今天以后终于被解放了。



Not a Rolex-man, never was, never did able to afford one even if I wanted one! I still wear plastic watches, G-Shocks mainly. I like this model, AW-582, nice and clean. And no, I can make do without the LED logo flashing in the back. There was never a need to reach over to my night stand in the middle of the night to click on a blingin' LED monkey head. What am I, 4 yrs old??

Wednesday, January 9th

S.L.M. - a 4-way dance.




Tomorrow we will see the official release of S.L.M. figures at Bodhi in London. Featuring 4 collaborative editions, this is quite an exciting release for us to start the '08 campaign. Designed by Sichi, who brought you BUKA, the SLM series features special editions of Devilock, Crazy Pig and Slam x Hype.

Launching in London, the series will also be available in the US and Mainland China.

Don't sleep on this one!

Something Chinese



Izanai, the Chinese contemporary artist from Nanjing, had been working with us on this project for some time now, and this is what we have been working on.

Maybe is ceramic? Fibreglass?

Well you'll have to wait a lil' longer and you'll find out. Due out in Feb.

Yoho PACKED da House.



Shanghai's Absolute House was literally FULL HOUSE last night as the Mainland trends magazine YOHO threw its 2nd anniversary party there. The magazine has the largest readership in the urban trends sector in Mainland, so it attracted tons and tons of people to its party. Sam Lee from Subcrew was spinning on stage, entertainers, street brand owners around Asia also came and drew lots of fanfare. Too much fanfare, actually, the good party got stopped by the police (again) due to capacity overload...


Even the third deck of this 3 leveled club was packed as over hundreds of guests were still outside the doors trying to get in. Hence the overload.


Bruce the man behind both Taiwanese labels Overkill and Mania.

REMIX's very own Eric trying to get some... haha good luck, bro.


Big up to my boy CHRIS for organizing the party. Is alright, bro, next time, we'll find somewhere the cops can't find us. Live & learn, brother.

The whole adFunture gang showed up, with another 7 brands from Taiwan, and One Way, Subcrew (of course) from HK, the dinner party was already like a trade show... the actual party was more like the afterparty.

I'm sure lots of people will be "talking" about this event for some time down the road, but I always see both good side and bad side for each incident. And this one was no different. Yes, better control and management would have helped, and the lack of experience in event organization was apparent. With such a strong readership support, the lack of crowd control for a YOHO event would have meant disaster. The result was somewhat foresee-able. The good side was the fact that this event was in a way open enough to allow the regular joes to show up and have fun, and with the growing Mainland urban market, you have yourself ALOT of joes, and it was apparent that Yoho did gain the people's support and showed up. In hindsight, an over-crowded party full of strangers is better than just a private club with friends from an A-List. You really want people to participate.. but in an organized manner.

Anyways, I'm sure the haters will talk trash, and chances are, they do have their points. But I think constant negativity won't help. Live and learn, and I'm sure the boys at Yoho learned alot last night. Hope they come out smashing next time around.

Friday, January 4th

Revelator / Purple



The mastermind behind Taipei street brand REVELATOR, Wade, and Higuchi of Invincible Shop came to the studio for a visit. We all first met last year in Taipei, and I've been wearing alot of Revelator gears ever since. It will be interesting to see what we can cook up together this summer.

台北街牌Relevator的主脑Wade和Invincible店成员之一Higuchi今天到访工作室。商讨‘08之collabo计划。自从去年在台北接触过Relevator后，Relevator和Remix都是自己wardrobe rotation中的heavy hitters。



The recent Purple Magazine featured a photo shoot of French artist ANDRE, aka MR.A, taken by Terry Richardson. The magazine featured quite a few personalities, and was a pretty good read. Check it out if you haven't already done so. Andre is definitely a rare find in the graffiti artist community, he is doing some crazy things around the globe.

Triumvir Visits



2008 started off with some friends visiting the adFunture Studio. Brandon and Julia from the South Cal. based streetwear brand Triumvir came in for a project meeting, which was quite interesting. Being able to brainstorm together face to face is always the best part of a true collaboration.

I have commented on how this 3yrs old label has changed its direction since last season, and how I like it in its new darker theme. After chatting with its founder Brandon, who shared a bit more info about Triumvir's not too distant future, I have an even greater interests it what these South Cal. boys got in store for us in 2008. Keep your eyes on this label, guys. Triumvir, remember it.

回到上海，一堆工作等着进行。也因是新年假期，好几位朋友访沪。Triumvir的Brandon和Julia也到了上海一回为我们08年的项目进行工作会议。在短短几年，Triumvir的发展进步得很快。今年，Triumvir和Brandon的动作会更多更精彩。大家请多多留意这个South Cal. 品牌。

"Yeah Right" Lefty by Hicalorie



To start the year off product-wise, we'll be releasing Hicalorie's new LEFTY soon. This will be the 3rd edition of Lefty, after the original and the other one done up by Superdeux. We call this the "Yeah Right" edition. This edition of 300 units will hit US sometime early Feb. Hope you like it.

迎接新年，Hicalorie的Lefty第三版本即将登场。这别注版明显的多了很多图案和色彩。表情较有趣，是自己3款中最爱的一款。希望它可以为大家在08年带来一点欢乐。

Happy New Year!




Happy New Year, everybody!!

2007 went by pretty quickly, and I have a feeling that '08 will be pretty much the same way. We have much to look forward to in the next 12 months, and I hope I can disclose to you more and more here when the time is right. adFunture has a full range of new Designer Figures planned for 2008, more new artists, more new sculpts. We'll have a little bit of wear-ables as well. Well, just sit tight, you'll see what we got cooking up for ya soon enough. For now, we thank you for your support up til now. Go out and have some fun on the first day of this brand new year!
