03/30/2008: ""I Can't Brake" @ PHANTACI"

Yesterday, traffic was seriously affected near Ric's Phantaci Store in Taipei.  In front of the store, there were over 50 fixed gear bikers hanging around for the party dubbed "I Can't Brake" hosted by Ric and his Phantaci crew.   I'm no rider myself, so I was interested in the riders enjoy this sport first hand.  I also found it interesting that Phantaci put together the event.  Since fixed gear has became a heat wave on the culture, companies (especially some corporates) are trying to tab into it and use fixed bike culture to up boost their own "street cred".  Ric was not one of those candy asses who tried to "tab in", he truly enjoys riding, he simply used his Phantaci platform to bring all those people together.  The event was FOR the riders, for those who truly live it.  As authentic as it gets, peeps.  Ric, thank you.

周杰伦和Ric合办的Phantaci店上周末举办名为"I Can't Brake"的脚踏车活动。Fixed Gear今天已是潮流中的热门话题。虽然有不少的自称潮流单位借用脚踏车为主题作过不少活动，但欠缺真实性。这次的活动却十分成功。成功因为这次是Fixed Gear发烧友们为发烧友们做的活动。到场的大多数是踏着Fixed来玩车的。够authentic。整个场面的feel很好。大家都在交流对于Fixed Gear的看法与心得。很好玩。也为好像我这样对Fixed Gear一无所知的人打开了发问了解的机会。也有机会亲眼看到他们在马路上的表演。很实在的一次活动。
