10/24/2007: "Shanghai MOCA Visit"
Went to check out what Mark Chang did for the current exhibition at Shanghai MOCA. I saw a small prototype of his piece when he visited our studio, but I know the real show piece is like life-size. Wanted to see it for myself. And it did not disappoint.
He calls it "MOODY", because the head was made of clear plastic, and you can stuff different objects into it, so, it is like you can see-thru his mind. Quite clever use of material. Mark is the owner of Pixie Gallery Shop in Taipei, and also the designer of designer figures SO-WHAT. He has more up his sleeves, so everybody watch out.
There were other piece that caught my eyes in the exhibition. I rarely come to MOCA,.... maybe I should visit more often. Who knows what I can find here..
This group was sitting right near the entrance on the 2nd floor... shocked me a lil' bit.
Very clean lines, I wouldn't mind making this into a vinyl !
"Windy Bunny" by Hiroyuki Matsuura. Another tall delight. Yeah, I like looking at sculptures.. comes with the job..
Go check out the exhibition if you have time. There are more great pieces in there, I didn't take photos of everything..
