08/24/2006: "PRIMO"

Quite a while ago, my good friend Karson Mak said "yeah, I'll start another new magazine soon. Named PRIMO." Knowing that Karson already had 2 magazine labels under his belt, I wasn't surprised that he wanted to start a third one.

PRIMO Magazine covers hi-end watches, fine art, pop art, cameras, supercars, it is basically a hi-end lifestyle magazine. Karson can definitely pull it off because he has good taste.

This evening, I was at red dot and saw a copy on my desk. It has been a while since I read an issue. This issue featured alot of good topics, including Maserati MC12 Corsa, Rollei 35RF, "INSTANT LIGHT", and a few brands of classic watches. It is doing very well.

Why I brought this up? Because I noticed the "issue number" on the book. This is issue #29.

The day Karson told me about this project was actually over 30 months ago..... Time really really flew by us. What did we accomplished in our life in the past 29 issues?

How many "magazine" ideas never made it to print? How many magazines didn't survive pass issue 2? Issue 10? Some folded because the public really didn't support it. Of course, there are many who went onto great success. I see that our friend has came along way already, and I sincerely wish him all the best, and many many great issues to come.

Karson, you did "good". I'm happy for you. Give me a ring when you are in town.
