08/20/2006: "China Unicom Design Competition"

Today started at 8am. I was barely, just barely, awake.



Went to the venue with DTL, who was also flew in to Beijing to be on the judges panel. The event was hosted in Marco Polo Hotel, quite nicely set up, that we must give props to Ms. Fion Feng and her crew. I was later told that the setup started from mid-night til this morning. So if I thought I didn’t have enough sleep, they got it even worse.



The MC was this pretty lady from TV, I really didn’t catch her name, I must apologize. (it was really a bit too early for me to get into the mood of things). But anyways, she got it all together, and did a great job throughout the day.



Later in the afternoon, after our judging, the official press conference was hosted, the CEO of China Unicom, Li Kang, was on hand for the occasion. 20 winners were announced, and they get all expense paid trip to Tokyo. All 20 of them. Congratulations you all, you guys deserve it. Thanks for showing up, coming out to support such a design competition.



Cheers to everything involved with this event. Lots of hard work went in the back. Wang Lu, Fion, and many others were the real heroes of the event. Cheers!!
