See U Next Year!!!
Got lots to do as 2008 winds down.
Daniel and Neil came to the new shop to take shots for their next magazine feature.

Known Neil for 3 years now, but today was my first photo shoot by the man.
Thx, Neil.
No more new products to show you until next year, folks.
Well, ok....
I'll leave you with this shot.

TOPOs variants by DGPH.
Low production runs. Only for those who dig their works.
Happy New Year and all the best to you all.
I'll update this blog next year.
(I like the sound of that, "NEXT YEAR"... sound so far away..)
AFT throws a Curve
After the Taipei visit, and Teddy Troops S3's release in the US, is time for our team to spend some time on the Shanghai retail shop. I went in yesterday to check if things are in order. The hf vinyl figure was dropped last weekend, the TT Series 3 will drop tomorrow.
hf vinyl figure is now available in our eShop as well.
Teddy Troops S3, I see someone pulled the "special variant" already. Now you know why we didn't say much about the variants before? A curveball, totally.
Merry Christmas to All
Back to base after the brief Taipei visit, just in time for Christmas.
Teddy Troops Series 3 have safely landed in USA, and are already available at a few shops.
I see some folks have questions about this series. ie, Names on the box; There are artists' names on the box. You'll see when you cop yours. Ratios? We'll post them on the site next week. Photos? Well, you'll just have to buy a few and see! haha I know, you guys hate me.
This is definitely our last product release in 2008. Marks a good finish.
Lovers, haters, go for it.
We'll continue this love-hate game next year.
Me, I'm gonna rest for a few days with friends and family, and start looking forward to 2009.
We still have a full-year program for you collectors over the next 12 months. So, look out!
I'll leave you all today with my sincere wish of Merry Christmas!
C u all in a bit.
I'm out
Family Day in Taipei
Last day in Taipei was definitely a family day for me.
Invited Jukai, Eden and my little god-daugther Molly out for dinner at POSH.

This kid is already one year old. 1 year went by already?? Geez...
Say "Hello" to my friends, Molly.

After the family dinner, it was the adFunture family dinner (late supper, sort of, 2am).
Eric, Jess, Jukai and Wade all came out to chat til morning.
The Taipei market is still growing despite the current economy situation, that's good news.
Can't say the same about its HK and Mainland counterparts...
See you all again soon, brothers.
Next group meal will be in Shanghai, maybe?
Kun Ming Street / XMD
Every time I visit Taipei, I make visiting this street a MUST-DO.
When you talk about "street culture of Taipei", you really cannot not mention this street in XMD district.
You will find your streetwear leaders REMIX TAIPEI, OVERKILL, MANIA, B-Side stores all on this one short street.
Graffiti filled the walls on both sides, and new murals are seen on my every visit.

This wasn't here 4 months ago..

New as well...
Anyways, most folks in this gendre know this street by now. You don't need me to point this out to ya.

Weapon of choice for this short trip; PUMA Mid.
Not the "S" series, but this red/white combo is right up my alley this season.
Hot~~

I've been coming to this city for 4 yrs now, and I can never name one restaurant that I can recommend, not to say there isn't any good eating place.
BUT, this time, Bruce took me to this place where I said "this is the spot!!"
In business for over 50yrs, these guys definitely know what they are doing.
Simple stuff, not expensive at all, but VERY GOOD.
Next time you don't know where to go for dinner, give this place a try.
Day 2: REMIX @ LUXY
REMIX TAIPEI doing it in style.
I'm pretty sure nobody will disagree when I say Remix is THE street brand who knows how to put together the best parties in Taiwan. Credit goes to Eric and his crew who are very very well organized and have projects well thought through. The brand's 4th anniversary party last nite was one great example.
Honestly, personally, I hate going to industry saugage parties where it just ends up with like 100 guys who you already knew and all just sitting around bullshiting the same old non-sense. You usually can't find real brand supporters in the parties, in most cases, the guests just came for the drinks. REMIX parties are quite the opposite. Great events arranged for the parties, and when you look at the crowd, they really do love the brand, and came to show their support. Also, you can find a good balance of both genders in the mix. That's a bill worth paying for.
Last nite, at LUXY, packed.

Jimmy!!

Ah, some of my favorite people in TW; Chen Wei and Wade the REVELATOR.

Princess Ashlee graced us with her presence.
Great seeing u again.

Busy man Ric.

People, meet Jose of B-Side.
Known for his motorcycle styled clothing line in TW, this guy is serious.
Behind this mad face lies a really quiet dude..

SARU was out. His head swung so badly, I was worried his neck might snap. j/k
Anyways, great party. Thank you Eric and the REMIX TAIPEI Crew.
Happy anniversary.
Fixing the display...
Crazy week this week, need to setup the display at Iconic-1 Shanghai store before I leave town. Decided to use the upper shelves as adFunture's product archive display. Had to dig out what we made in the past 7 years... Couldn't find some of the pieces, which should be able to do so later.
Is quite a feeling when you see all of your works stuffed together...

Digged this up. Jeremy, remember this??
A customed FLING by J. Madl back in 2003. That was before all those DIY exhibitions, THE MONKEY SHOW was it. Those were good times.
Hiroshi Fujiwara Vinyl Figure drops this weekend
After 2 years since the start of our collaboration, the first retail version of our Hiroshi Fujiwara Vinyl Figure will be dropped this Sat (Dec 20th).
This 6" tall figure will be available at 4 locations this weekend:
Shanghai - Iconic-1 Shop
Hong Kong - Black Cross
Taipei - Oneway TW flagship store
New York - Staple's Reed Space
This has been a long time coming, and we are quite excited about this release.
hf, thank you for your support thoughout this time.
KONJINSHA Mini-Computer
Taking my traveling habbits into consideration, I decided to get a laptop that can allow me to lose as much weight as possible on my backpack. Really don't see the need (for me) to carry my 14" Mac Book Pro to have it sit on the hotel room's table. After looking around the computer centers, decided to take a risk and try this Japanese portable computer label KONJINSHA. Relatively unknown to most computer users, Konjinsha specializes in mini-computers. I know they have another term for it, I read it somewhere, but I forgot, whatever. Is light, 1.6kg. With a 7" LED screen, is not really suitable for work work, but for just daily emails, web browsing and the occasional blog updates on the road, this will do.

Love the fact that you can fold it up and just use the joystick and mouse-click buttons built-in on the side panels. With a touch-screen system, makes this quite user-friendly when I just have to kill time waiting inside the airport. I am cursed, whichever flight I take, it gets an hr to 4 hrs delays, every bloody time. I need something to do sitting in the airport lounge area. I'll take this new toy to my trip to TW this week. If it turns out to be a nightmare, I'll report back here.
--------------------------------

Before 2008 comes to an end, we'll finally release the vinyl figure we worked with Hiroshi Fujiwara. Images have been floating around quite a bit, and hate the fact that we dragged this on for so long to get this out there. But finally, we have a release date; Dec 20th. You can cop this in person if you will be in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Taipei and New York City.
DACOSTA / Buff Monster Holiday GID 10" TT / HP x Burton
New Release on Dec 20th.
@ NYC, HK, Taipei and Shanghai.
Taipei??
Address? Stay tuned.
Something new. Not a Teddy Troop, don't worry.
-----------------------------------

Talk about up and coming designers, we placed our votes on a few underrated cats out there last week. I've seen Dacosta's work out there for a while now, but I must say it seems like most folks missed this diamond in the rough. Got an email from Dov this evening, and these 2 items were in it; Snobot (Dacosta x Toyqube) and his own DCTO. Loved DCTO when I first saw the red edition, I'm sure people will show some love for his GID version.
If you haven't paid much attention to Big D yet, well, is a good time to start.
-----------------------------------Yes, I knew about this.
No, adFunture was not involved with this custom release.

Signed/numbered hand-painted Holiday GID Teddy Troops by Buff Monster, with hand-silkscreened box and signed/numbered Giclee print in an edition of 25.
Dec 15th is the official drop date, I can only assume they would drop on Buff's own site. I've read somewhere that the price might be $250usd, don't know how true that is.
Buff Monster fans, go for it.
Nice box, Buff.
-----------------------------------

Saw this new jacket online, another project done by Hiroshi under the Headporter brand, this time working with Burton. Like the pink. Hope this is Asian sized...
Suitman Chocolates / Blaze of Glory
What to get for friends this Christmas?.....

A very nice Chocolate Boxset done by Suitman with Agnes b.
Packaging is everything, and this certainly proves it. It comes with a tote bag too.
Great for the holiday season.
If you are still thinking about what to get your friends, well, here's a suggestion for you.
---------------------------------

Ever since Adam gave me a pair of the "Stealth" Blaze of Glory, I've been paying close attention to this model. PUMA did a 2-part collabo with Sneaker Freaker that released in the middle of this year, which was ill. Couldn't cop a pair though, that was too bad. My Stealth is now wored out, and just in time, these 2 variants showed up in the shop. No fancy collaboration title, just your regular in-line items. But look at those colors, I'll rock a pair any day, especially the purple one.
This X'mas...
Just in time! We got these made for this X'mas.
Nothing fancy, just a good old X'mas YOKA.
Folks who come by the Iconic-1 store this month can get their hands on these.
---------------------------------------

Gotta show some love here.
Friends in France should pick this wicked board up at Colette. Designed by one of my personal favorite artists Andre aka Mr. A, incollaboration with skateboard label Street Machines.
Bees & Worms / REMIX TAIPEI
On my last nigt in Beijing, Vivi brought me to this Yun-Nan resturant. Had a long day, so we just ordered some simple dishes. However, I wanted to try this dish made with bees and worms... yeah... sick, I know, but I figured since we were there, might as well try something "different". Honestly, yeah, they were bees and worms, but after they were fried, you can't tell. So, conclusion, it was nothing exciting afterall.
---------------------------------------------------------

My boys from REMIX TAIPEI will be celebrating their brand's 4th anniversary this month. And they are starting the month of December off with a bang! 3 collaboration projects lined up for the celebration included 3 styles of skate kicks with VANS, a cool looking DW6900 with G-Shock, and 2 caps with New Eras.

Very nicely done, Eric and crew. I'll see you at LUXY on Dec. 19th.
Beijing Day 5: Club MAO / PARRA Headphones
Beijing Day 2 - 4
Received this as PUMA's invitation to its Volvo Ocean Race launch event in Beijing. It was a well organized party at BLING Beijing. Party animals filled the venue, along with a fair share of celebrities.

Everybody leaving the party got their photos taken.
I like the VOR red jacket.
---------------------------------------

Kylie Minogue was in town to host her first ever concert in Beijing. 2 hrs filled with action, one of the more generous performances we have seen in Mainland. Most international entertainers' Mainland concerts were only like 6-8 songs long... Minogue's was over 20 songs... With that said, didn't realize concert tickets are so much more expensive than its Shanghai counterparts.
