Beijing Day 1

Arrived Beijing this afternoon. Weather is ok, -3 today. Not too cold.

Met up with my big brother Nie, a must for every Beijing visit.
The busy man has big plans. Watch out, world!

Nice to meet up with Jack again. Haven't seen him in 12 months, at least.
Good to see both of these guys are well.

Will spend the next couple of days checking out different shops, and see what the boys in Beijing are up to.

Zippo continues its collaboration project "Like a Canvas" as it series 2 involved reknown Japanese labels Fragment Design, Neigborhood and Honeyee.Com. The white one pictured above is one of the 2 variants by Hiroshi Fujiwara's Fragment Design. The new series will be sold on honeyee.com. Definitely a smart move on Zippo's part by involving itself with such an elite group of collaborators.

Streetwear Today / Vintage Dunk / KRINK Mailbox

Tons of work to finish before the one-week trip to Beijing... If Shen Yang didn't freeze me, I'm sure Beijing will.....

Was chatting with Alex from UK this evening, and it was brought to my attention that we were "mentioned" in a recent issue of Sportswear Today. I found it quite cool to show up in such a respected streetwear magazine. It turns out to a feature on China streetwear scene. A few friends were mentioned in article as well, DEF, MESS, Urban Mag and YOHO Mag. Good to be in such good company. Also found it interesting to see PARRA's artwork on the cover of that particular issue.

Thank you, Alex, for sharing this with me.

----------------------------------------------------------

Finally got myself a pair of these vintage Dunk Hi. Can't go wrong with b/w.

---------------------------------------------------

Now, THIS worth a mention.
KRINK inked up mailbox by our good friends at Kidrobot.
This should be resin and not vinyl. I like KR's choice on this, this usually be stuff that we would make. Nice to see KR is going this route. Mad props.

Invasian Magazine

About yesterday's post
While the photo of Futura's vinyl tag was pretty much self-explanatory, the photo of the pair of shoes threw some people off. Some folks out there saw photos of our vinyl figure of Hiroshi months ago, and thought this item was released then. It wasn't. Whatever you saw out there, those were just spy photos. The real deal will only be dropped next month. The full figure, that pair of shoes included. It was a long time coming, but is safe to say that it will finally come out for your own collecting pleasure.

---------------------------------------------

Graffiti in Asia never got the attention it deserves. Is good to see some sincere artists are doing something about it. INVASIAN Magazine.

Issue 2 is now out, check out the site (http://www.invasianmagazine.com), better yet, check out the magazine in real print.

Dec Releases

As we are a week away from the last month of 2008, this should be a good time to take a glimpse into what will be dropped during that last 30 days of this topic-filled year. We have already confirmed the 2 items in the Teddy Troops Collection, and there are those unrelated to the teddy with a helmet.

For those who missed out on the first release, there'll be a new colorway. A bit more in supply in this round. 100 pieces will be made available for the ICONIC-1 Edition.

How about this? This sat on my table for many months as well, is time to let this one go.

Everything will be available within the month of December, mostly via our own online shop.

Hope you will dig these, and I'm sorry about your wallet. You know, it is Christmas..

Shen Yang Day 2: A1 Sneaker Store

So, the reason for our Shen Yang visit.

Were we there to participate in some sort of protest or riot?

Some campaign rally, mabe?

Nope. Is a sneaker shop opening event....

Yup. A1 Sneaker Shop.

A1 was the first sneaker boutique of its kind opened in Shen Yang on Sunday. Dick was there managing the event, he made sure everyone was having a fun time. A job well done.

Standing in the middle of entertainer Rex Yu and Nic Li was Gao-Ning; The owner of A1. A huge fan of basketball kickz. This would be the young man's first venture into the sneaker business world. We wish him all the best.

It was good to see Chris woke up in time to join the opening ceremony. He missed his flight due to this reason one day prior, by which nobody on our crew was surprised... 11am flight for Chris, no way! He woke up at 12.. haha

And who might this be? Well, hello there...

Shen Yang Day 1

Visited Shen Yang city for my very first time. I've heard a few things about this city and was interested to check it out. The downside was that we only get to stay for one and half days. Not enough to see anything really.

We were greeted with this giant BMW front-grille at the luggage lobby inside the Shen Yang Airport. That hinted the financial situation of the city... is definitely in good standing.

Went along with this semi-business trip were a few usual cats.

Daniel is everywhere.

Sean from Protest Design was in Shanghai taking a break anyways, so we said "why not?! Come along!" Well, actually, that's what I said to myself too.

K was there representing ONEWAY.
But why are we all here?
Find out tomorrow.

Yellow

The army is growing. Love taking these shots. Figures, some figures, look best in bulk. Line them up, folks.

The YOKAs you'll see in 2009 will involve much more print work. Try to bootleg these, suckers. I'm sure you "can", but there goes your profit margins.

eShop

The new site is now basically in place, still missing a few elements, but the basics are there. Some of you have already noticed the "eShop" section, which is now empty. This site now works like this: Everything you see on here has a Price tag in its description, but that "price" is only its original Suggested Retail Price. We do not have that item currently for sale if it is not in our "eShop" section. Don't get jumpy when you see VRS Barcelona for $15! haha That's not happening now.

What's good with an eShop in place if it doesn't offer any products?! They're comin', sit tight. Just waiting for the right time to drop something. We have a few options on hand, let see which we should let go first. A new colorway of Futura Tag, Buff TT, new Topos, .... Ahem.....

Easy there, which you'd want more for X'mas?

DUSTY Shanghai; Open for Biz

The 12yrs old Hong Kong clothing label DUSTY opened its Shanghai chapter yesterday. The whole gang flew from HK to SH for the celebration. Congratulations to Dennis and his crew. Surely Dusty can add another flavour to the existing Mainland urban scene. 12yrs of experience, you guys must know some things. :-)

The usual suspects at the venue.
It was 5:30pm, Chris must have just woken up.
Ivan, nice to meet you.

No title

The site is going through another revamp as you can see. Everything should go live next week.
An all black background, a nice change of pace.

Teddy Troops Series 3 teaser shot went out today. Some people will love them, but some people won't. Always the case. Just those people who hate it usually speak out more. Kinda used to it by now.
Let the beating begin!

FUTURA x Burton

Futura x Burton Snowboard.
A major contrast from upper to under. Dark vs Colors.
Gotta love those atoms.

ONEWAY Opens

ONEWAY's first Mainland flagship store finally opened in Guangzhou this past Saturaday. I was there to celebrate with K and the rest of the gang. Good vibe all around. adFunture products are now officially available in Guangzhou via the 2 ONEWAY Shops, yes, two. Both of the ONEWAY Shops opened on the same day. Brave, K, really brave. :-) A huge congrats to K and the ONEWAY crew.

To celebrate the grand opening, ONEWAY released the trucker cap pack including a cap plus an ONEWAY YOKA, both glow in the dark. "The Future is Here", this slogan has been hanging on our site for a month now, this is what all was about.

Wow, the colors...

I honestly cannot recall when was my last time in this Ocean Park. I was 7, 8 yrs old? I dunno. This time, on my re-visit, I found it interesting. Is actually quite calm to watch them swim around all day...

How ya doing, little fella?

This one is beautiful.

They sleep standing on one leg... Chris, try this at home!

If you ever in Hong Kong, check out Ocean Park. Fuck the rides, just check out the different fish tanks, worth the visit. Pandas are in the park too, but I didn't have time to go see them. Next time.... like another 10yrs from now.

ONEWAY / UE

Sat down with K to discuss the preparation of the GuanZhou shop opening. Is getting tight, the grand opening will be this coming Sat. Aside of the YOKA sets produced by yours truly, there will be other cool items to be dropped that day. ONEWAY fans definitely should not miss out. ONEWAY GZ Shop will also be carrying the adFunture product line in the shop. We were having fun with the setup and layout and all that stuff. Is definitely some exciting times for the ONEWAY crew and adFunture crew. Always happy to get another retail door set up, another facelet for us to greet our supporters.

Uniform Experiment charm necklace from last season, this was a great find. I love shopping in HK...my bank doesn't.

Halloween @ Club PP in HK

Spent Halloween in Hong Kong with Anthony and his gang. We were joking about our childhood Halloween days back in Toronto, how fun those were. Comparing to the grown up version of it, honestly, the childhood version was much better. Seems like the grown up version is just another excuse to go clubbing...well, with more extreme make-up on, at best. HK's Halloween was just that, clubbing, clubbing and clubbing.. With that said, comparing to the Shanghai Halloween, HK is already much better...

Anthony having a good time. He took us out to Club PP in TST. Crowded..
Thank you, bro. Again, it was great hanging out with ya.
Next time, pls put on some makeup...
